NON-PROFIT film: CRADLES TO CRAYONS
Cradles to Crayons, a Boston-based nonprofit that provides high-quality clothing and other essentials to children in families experiencing poverty, engaged ideafarm to create an impact film to be used at its annual winter fundraising event across three markets: Boston, Chicago and Philadelphia.
Due to the pandemic, the challenges of this project were considerable. COVID outbreaks in Chicago led to rescheduled shoots, the elimination of the original filming location, a move-up of one market’s gala date and an evolving set of participants who were to be featured in the film — challenges that ideafarm was nimble and experienced enough to meet.
The four-minute film, which highlights the personal story of a family helped by the organization, was central to the “ask” of the 2020 event, which featured Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as presenters. The first virtual gala in Cradles to Crayons’ 20-year history was a resounding success, with each market achieving their desired fundraising goals.
